My name is John Thiede.

I am a Romulus Firefighter who responded to the NWA Flight 255 crash. I think what you guys do is great for families. I stay in touch with the 255 families and never have missed a memorial here in Detroit since the crash in 1987. That night 156 people perished, but I went home the next day with a small ray of hope knowing I was involved in the rescue of the lone survivor.
I dont think I sleep the same since that night. I still work on the department and have to travel that road every shift. I still see it as it was that night.
My heart goes out to all those who lost loved ones this way.
