If somebody asked what I needed at the time of the accident I would have said, Someone to reach out to me, just to talk, to be accessible and to allow me to talk about my fears, about my loss, about why I missed my parents. ACCESS does this for people through its mentoring program¦there is a sense of understanding, of knowing the feeling of losing a loved one without saying goodbye…there is a feeling of a bond and a mutual appreciation for the hardship that accompanies life after our respective sudden losses.
